I think when you explain what a TIF district is, people will be TICKED and vote now.

This is Jack's playground that the hardworking, overtaxed people of Derry get to pay for. A cost vs. benefit analysis easily proves this is a loser.

I don't know if the widening of 28 has anything to do with the 4A project but I came across an interesting blog that contained some info that I wasn't aware of pertaining to the exit 4A project. Somehow I always feel like something just doesn't smell right in Derry. I guess its a lack of trust in the local officials......http://www.townofderry.blogspot.com

I do not understand why many get so excited when there is a possibility a new business will come to town.
If businesses really were a benefit to our tax rate I would be excited also.
To prove my point, look at any big city i.e.Boston, NY etc, yet with all those businesses the big cities have a higher tax rate than a suburb.

You can't really compare big cities with smaller towns/communities. With their infrastructure it only makes sense that their overall costs - fire, police, public transportation etc. would drive up the taxes. I do however agree that unless a boat load of businesses open in Derry taxes will never go down and even with that it would drive up our infrastructure costs.
